My Dear Old Grey Headed Grandma

On September 10, 2008, my 97 year old grandmother died. As much as I loved her, it was a blessing when she finally went. It's what she's wanted for a long time. One of the last things she said to me was that her dearest wish was to be with her sweetheart again. She and my grandpa were married for 72 years! The loved each other so much and were a good example of love to their family. One of the last things I said to her was that I loved her very much and I would miss her when she was gone. And I do!

I know she is very very happy.

I'm happy for her too, but miss her. I was showing Shelby pictures of our wedding the other day and she was waving at Granny's picture.

This is a nice start to your Blog Denise. I've thought a lot about Grandma lately. We've been reading a story called the Keeping Quilt in my 3rd grade class. Granny and Gramps came to my mind a lot. The kids in my class saw their old tough teacher get all choked up.

That's sweet, Mike. I gave her a book called The Orphan Train. I sure would like to know what happened to it!

I think she got that book from you for Christmas at my mom & dad's house. I', pretty sure I packed it in some of her stuff. Not sure if she took it with her to NM, or if it was in the stuff I took to Kim and Brad's house.
